Beale: Build On Palace Performance And Win
Jon Beale has challenged his Hull City Under-23s side to end their 2018/19 Professional Development League campaign on a positive note.
The Tigers ended a 14-game winless run with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the KCOM Stadium last weekend and will now to look build on that result away at Coventry City this afternoon before hosting Birmingham City in their final league fixture on Good Friday.
"Everyone was delighted to get back to winning ways against Palace last time out," he said.
"I thought the lads were different class to come away with what was a fully deserved three points and obviously it was a huge relief to end the run of games without a win.
"It has been a difficult experience for everyone involved with the Under-23s but the lads have stuck together and shown great character to come through it.
"We've got two league games remaining and, although we've got nothing to play in terms of the league and our final position, we want to end the season on a positive note and on the back of a decent run of results.
"It's been a tough campaign but we're determined to end it on a high. We've two league games remaining and then we've got the East Riding Cup Final as well - we want to win all three.
"We're away at Coventry today and we've got to look build on the victory over Palace. We set a standard with our performance last weekend and we've got to match that at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon."
