Beale Looking For Positive Response
Jon Beale is looking for a positive response from his players when Hull City Under-23s travel to Nottingham Forest this afternoon.
The Tigers slipped to a second successive league defeat when losing 3-1 to Leeds United on home soil earlier this week and - ahead of today's Professional Development League clash at The City Ground - Beale has called for his side put Monday night's disappointment firmly behind them.
"We had a conversation in the changing room after the Leeds defeat and - as a group - we discussed a few things," he said.
"There are a few things that we’ve got to put right because Monday night wasn’t anywhere near what we expect in terms of the team's performance.
"I can’t fault the boys’ effort and endeavour but at times I don’t think we were effective enough. We’ve got to find a way to be more effective - both individually and collectively.
"That’s probably been the story of the season for us really, but like I said there’s been questions asked of each other and we’ll do what we can to put it right against Nottingham Forest.
“It’s been a quick turnaround from the Leeds game, but the work ethic has been there in what they do every day and they've been trying to do the right things in training.
"However - individually and collectively - we’ve got to find a way to be better in terms of how we affect the game, and that’s what we’ll be looking to do achieve against Forest."
