Beale: We're Trying To Get That Win Our Performances Deserve
Jon Beale believes his Hull City Under-23s are close to getting the results which their recent performances deserve.
While recent results have been the source of frustration with the Tigers' last Professional Development League win coming against Bolton Wanderers back in December, Beale insists that the quality of the team's displays will eventually come good.
Speaking ahead of tonight's league clash with Cardiff City at the Roy West Centre, Beale said: "The message to the players is to keep the faith and keep believing.
"In fairness, the lads have been playing really well of late and things just haven’t been going our way.
"There's been the odd refereeing decision here or there or just that little bit of luck that has gone against us.
"They got the winning feeling back by beating Chalk Lane in the East Riding Cup last week and that's a result the lads now need to build on.
"We're in a tough run of results in the league at the minute with our last win being back in December but, as I say, the lads have been working hard in training day in, day out and performances have been decent of late.
"We played really well away at QPR last time out in the league and it was frustrating not to come away with anything to show for our efforts. I was gutted for the lads because they didn't deserve to lose that game whatsoever.
"But, looking at the bigger picture, we are seeing improvements in our performances. None of the defeats have been heavy and they've all been close games.
"We've got to maintain those performance levels, whilst maybe being a little bit more clinical with the chances we create and have a bit more control over what we're doing.
"But, preparations have gone well and we're ready for the challenge Cardiff will provide tonight. Hopefully, we can get the win we all want and kick on to finish the season strongly."
