Boyle: We'll Have To Be At Our Best
Terry Boyle says his Hull City Under-18s will have to be at their best in order to progress in this evening's FA Youth Cup Fourth Round tie against Wigan Athletic.
The Latics make the trip to the KCOM Stadium aiming to continue their impressive unbeaten run in all competitions this season, which sees them eight points clear at the top of the EFL Youth Alliance, and knocked out Category One Wolves in the previous round of the prestigious Youth cup competition with a 2-1 win at Molineux.
The Tigers head into the tie with plenty of confidence themselves though after registering a 6-2 victory over Bolton Wanderers last weekend, with Boyle insisting only a high-quality performance from his youngsters will be good enough.
"It’ll be a tough game - a very tough game," he said. "They’re on a great run at the minute and haven’t lost in twenty games.
"We saw them against Wolves in the previous round where they beat Category One opposition 2-1 at Molineux and were very impressed by them.
"With their front three and the system they play, they've got goals in their team, so we've got to do our jobs properly in all areas of the pitch.
"We're back at the KCOM Stadium again and hopefully it will prove to be another good experience for the lads, just like the Cardiff game was in the last round.
"We gave a good account of ourselves that night and deservedly progressed in the competition and the aim is to repeat that feat on Saturday. Hopefully, we can produce a performance that will see us in the hat for the fifth round draw."
