Lewis-Potter Named Academy Player Of The Year

Lewis-Potter Named Academy Player Of The Year

Keane Lewis-Potter spoke of his pride at being named Academy Player of the Year at the Club's 2018/19 Player of the year awards night.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season at Under-18 and Under-23 levels, scoring 24 goals in just 34 games, whilst also making his senior debut at the age of just 17 when coming off the bench in the Tigers' Emirates FA Cup tie against Millwall in January.

Reflecting on receiving the award, which was presented to him by Academy Manager Jon Beale, Lewis-Potter said: "It's a big achievement and one that gives me a lot of pride.

"When you consider the last few winners of this award have been Josh Tymon, Brandon Fleming and Charlie Andrew, I would say I'm in good company.

"It's been a really positive season for me personally. To make my first-team debut for my hometown club at the age of 17, it's the stuff of dreams - what more could you ask for?

"I've been here since the age of 14 and I can't thank everyone at the Academy enough for helping me to progress - everyone has been brilliant with me.

"As I say, it's been a memorable season but I just want to focus on the future and kick on now.

"First and foremost, obviously it's key to get a good pre-season behind me," he continued.

"After that, hopefully, I can be with the first-team more often, train at Cottingham more times and push on with them. The aim is to show people what I can do."
