Report: Hull City U23s 2 Oxford United U23s 1
Two Keane Lewis-Potter goals were enough to see Hull City Under-23s return to winning ways with a 2-1 Premier League Cup victory over Oxford United on Monday night.
After an evenly contested first half at the Roy West Centre, Lewis-Potter opened the scoring on 44 minutes when losing his marker at the back post to nod home Max Sheaf's deep corner past the helpless Jack Stevens.
Oxford were back on level terms six minutes after the restart through Harvey Bradbury, who rose the highest to guide Albie Hopkins’ corner into the back of the net.
However, Lewis-Potter restored the Tigers' lead on 64 minutes with a superbly-taken match-winning goal. Picking a loose ball up on the edge of the area, the youngster shaped to shoot before moving the ball onto his left foot and firing a low strike into the bottom corner.
