Sheaf: We Must Build On Bristol City Performance
Max Sheaf insists he and his Under-23s team-mates must use their performance against Bristol City as a building block for the rest of the season.
Jon Beale's side produced an excellent display at Ashton Gate last week to earn a share of the spoils with a 1-1 draw, a result which saw them bounce back from successive Professional Development League defeats at the hands of Ipswich Town and Millwall.
Now Sheaf, who made his senior professional debut against Derby County in the Carabao Cup two weeks ago, has called on the Development Squad to build on the positives from the performance as they look to move forward - starting with tonight's league encounter against Watford.
"The boys were excellent in all areas of the pitch against Bristol City last time out," he said.
"From the goalkeeper all the way up to the front-man - it was a great team performance and the only disappointment was that we didn't come away with the three points that we fully deserved.
"We were unlucky to go on a goal down at the break, but we stayed positive, regrouped and figured what we needed to do in order to get ourselves back into the game.
"We did that and produced a really positive second half display. We showed a lot of heart and a lot of desire to get ourselves back into the game and, in the end, we were unlucky not to get the win to be fair.
"We go again now though with Watford being the next challenge. It's important for us to build on the many positives from our performance at Bristol City and match the standard we set for ourselves.
"We've gone three games without a win now and that's a statistic that we're determined to put right this evening."
