Ward Aiming To Kick On In 2020
Josh Ward says he’s looking forward to what 2020 will bring with Hull City U18s after an enjoyable 2019 experience with the Tigers.
The full-back, who joined the Academy as a first-year scholar in July 2019, has been a regular feature for John Anderson's side in the first half of the campaign and is now looking to kick on and improve.
"It’s been a really good first six months," he said.
"I’ve enjoyed it. I think it’s difficult moving away from home at such a young age, but I’ve got used to it all.
"I’ve got used to being a scholar and being at the Academy. I’m in full-time and I've enjoyed the experience so far.
"I've enjoyed working with the coaches and working with all the staff in the Academy set-up as well, and I've joined what it is a really good group of players.
"As I say, it's been enjoyable so far and I'm just looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings now.
"I think it’s important I improve. I always need to improve and always try and keep getting better as well as keep working hard. As I say, I need to play as many games as I possibly can and look to build on it.
"I’ve had a good run of games now in the side, including the FA Youth Cup (against Leeds United) where I got myself into that squad and I earned my place there, and I think I need to keep my position in the U18s team and really build on that going into the new year."
